We watched this excellent film last evening and (for us) stayed up late .
Because of his violent past I think the viewer could assume he was a waste of space and was guilty . Got it wrong again .
Powerful acting by the cast and a decent accent from Jack O'Connell , I think .
Robert De Nero does not do accents , neither does Meryl Streep .
Michael Caine puts them both to shame .
