Had high hopes with this cast, and a Netflix production budget. They act well, but are ultimately ham-strung by a clichéd TV movie plot and two-dimensional character development... even if the script is derived from a real life biography. I didn't really come away with any more insight why this poverty and education trap persists or what can be done to break away from it.
