I think they did an awesome job with this film, capturing all the best elements of the original shining, especially the soundtrack, and adding a new twist. My only complaints, and they are very minor, are that the Grady sisters were nowhere near as terrifying as they were in the original (and still are in real life) and the guest in the dog suit was missing.
