First man is an exciting, action-filled movie that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat for over two hours. Its well written story line will compel you to watch it over and over again. Damien Chazelle was able to take a well known story and transform it into something new is truly the key to creating something special. Taking the famous story of an American hero like Neil Armstrong and making up things here and there makes this movie great. If you love tension and suspense, this is the movie for you! Because of the dramatic tension, your eyes will be glued to the screen. You could call this movie one big climax because it’s so high in excitement and suspense throughout the story that it never seems to peak. The fact that it still holds people’s attention throughout the entire plot is a testament to the quality of the movie. The storyline is well written and is crafted to provide a view into the pieces and details of the story that we don’t know. While other documentaries and motion pictures would attempt to focus on the launching of the spacecraft and Armstrong's first steps on the moon, this film focuses on the spiritual and emotional journey that the pioneer traveled. It shows aspects of his family life that orchestrated his lifestyle. Through loss and hardship, he was able to rise quite literally and look down upon where he had started.
