It is a type of crime mystery thriller which is rare in Hindi cinema. The movie is filled with twists and turns, which are completely unpredictable. The film has led me to appreciate Sriram Raghavan, who was the director and one of the writers for the film. He is really a master of flawed characters. The protagonist in his movies have always been flawed, except maybe Agent Vinod, which makes his movies even more ambiguous.
At the very beginning we hear Akash’s (Ayushmann Khurrana) voice pointing out that it’s a long story, then we see a one-eyed rabbit and then the scene shifts to Akash in his mundane life. The movie attains our focus from the very beginning and keeps us engrossed till the very end. All the actors were fabulous, especially Tabu. She gave a brilliant performance, one of her best in this genre, along with Ghazala in _Haider_ , in my opinion. You can watch the film just for of Tabu’s performance although the real star of the movie is the story. She is cunning, manipulative and looks gorgous. Ayushmann has also done a great job. He is very convincing as a blind person and a pianist.
The music by Amit Trivedi makes the movie more enjoyable. Loved the songs Naina Da Kya Kasoor and Laila Laila. All the music played by Ayushmann on the piano were melodious. Loved the Background score.
There is nothing in the movie that you can point out and say that you dislike it. Everything complements each other perfectly and you leave the theatre satisfied. I feel every movie lover is going to remember this movie. It’s a modern Bollywood classic.
