Gene Hackman is very good, as always, playing a more unrealistic character, similar to his Sheriff in "Unforgiven." Alas, he is the only thing worth watching in this poorly directed flick. The frequent camera zooming in and out, make the film hard to watch. It's a very unnecessary and over used technique. Sadly the talents of Russell Crowe, Sharon Stone and Leanardo DiCaprio don't show up here. The writing is poor and predictable. Hackman fans (like myself) have a WEALTH of much better works to showcase his talents. Fans of Stone, Crowe and Di Caprio would do well to skip this one, so as not to loose faith in these stars. Fans of a good western, likewise, have WAY too many better options to spend your time on. Best to pass this one up!!
