REFUNDED (Thank God)
3 Holes in, uninstalled and refunded. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS GAME!
Long Version-
Warning signs before you download.. The game is 6GB!!!!!!!!!! £50 for a 6GB game, and the corners cut are every where, from the basic 80s menus and clunky controls to having 10 actual courses to hack around.
Next warning sign comes when you read 'presented by the Golf Club'. I bought the Golf Club 2, and without course design it's unplayable, simple as that. Slow, clunky, impossibly difficult on any curved green.
Thirdly the final nail in the coffin comes when you realise you've been conned into (apparently foolishly) believing that you can PLAY AS THE PROS. YOU CANT! Even TW would get boring if he was the only playable character ffs..
Bringing me to this point, the TW franchise was great for it's arcade style. Because the pros do tare up courses, which you'll never do in real life. In real life I am an awful golfer, yet I am better than my virtual counterpart. Why would I want to hack my way around feeling the misery of double and tripple bogeys if I can do the same or better in real life. It's like playing Need for Speed with a Nissan Micra. Totally boring.
THE COMMENTARY, if you thought PES had low rent commentary, they've stuck with the same moronic berk from the awful Golf Club games. Yes, they did market Rich Beem as commentator. But not for all game modes it seems. So you get some nobody with no character. Remember TW 2003 with David Fehety? what a joke of an offering this is in comparison to games from 2 decades ago.
Augusta National is essential if you want to be serious, these clowns never did. Weird mix of 8 TPC courses, thanks a bunch.
Long ago I thought TGC would be the competition EA needed- I thought Rory was slapdash and lazy, way too few courses and players. But the reality is this company has killed any hope for a good golf game, and it seems there is definitely no hope without EA.
Such a shame that such untalented game developers got this opportunity, really feels like an A-Level computing project gone wrong, shockingly unproffessional in every way.
Don't listen to the positive brigade, they'd have 'loved' anything, look at the facts, no players, no courses, no gameplay. Shame on the PGA for putting their name to this, highway robbery.
