Genuinely such a phenomenal show. The portrayal of queer love is so raw and natural, which is a concept many shows fail to accomplish. I greatly appreciate the fluidity of Wilhelm's sexuality and the fact that it hasn't been labeled. All he knows is he is in love with Simon, and that's all he needs to know. Also, many shows tend to go overboard with young people in royalty, but this show had a perfect amount. You can truly empathize with Wilhelm, while acknowledging the fact that he does have a very privileged life. This is mostly because he doesn't show it. He is a boy who has lost so much and doesn't feel as though anybody truly cares for him--except Simon--and it is so most heartbreaking when Simon leaves him too. I found myself empathizing for both characters and seeing how each of them are trying to protect themselves while also maintaining the love they have for each other. Another big thing--the casting was very well done. With neurodivergent representation and actual teenagers playing teenagers, this show has achieved many great things.
