It was a good show with terrific VFX and great directing and unmistakable THE THING homages that provides well executed horror and fantasy scenes, but whose script sinks in terrible gaps or in being way too functional to the scenes. It's like the script has traffic signs spread all over to point us where it goes. Some characters are important and then, dismissed. But the acting and directing qualities make up for the shortcomings. Will Patton makes a great villain to hate and Madsen has a perfect and hipnotic performance. Crystal Reed portrays a great CDC hero, but her loose hair in a hospital or lab kill her credibility and her sidekick knows wwwaaaaayyy too much for being just a failed reporter and what the hell does the blue devil play in there? I still don't know. Only being nitpicky there. 10 chapters is just the right amount for not getting bored. Good bang for the buck and keep horror alive!

I think WB was so scared of MARVEL'S INFINITY WAR they made 2 AQUAMAN movies into one. And they're both poorly put together in a clumsy, dumb script, filled and saturated with mythology, exposition and "Booms!" interrupting dialogue scenes. James Wan is still a terrific director that makes a terrible script to look cohesive and intelligible and with expert camera work and great fights that don't look generic, but planned and imaginative. But the result still struggles with squeezing and ocean sized mythology and a GOT sized cast (and intrigues)into one movie. And still be tainted by MARVEL's style handbook where Jason Momoa wastes his talent in imitating THOR RAGNAROK and Amber Heard carries the "woman rolling her eyes at starring" cross. With less executives panic, AQUAMAN had everything to become a classic.
