Just watched my first episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Really loved the authenticity of the clothes and attitudes. One thing that stuck out and jarred me was the frequent use of the word f___. No way would any respectable woman or man in the fifties use that word. For a middle class Jewish woman to be spewing that "filth" would have been totally unacceptable. At least that is how I remember life in those times.
