Johnny Flynn (Mr Knightley) finally gets the period drama love interest lead I’ve been waiting for! I am a huge fan of Johnny’s music and acting, as I am a fan for period pieces and Austen. This film is absolutely delicious, the colours, costumes, and compositions of the scenes were the embodiment of tart luxury that 18th c England was for the higher class. The script followed the tongue of Austen, playfully dancing with the tartness exaggerated. The casting was superb and my star of the show - apart from Johnny - has to be Tania Reynolds who played the snooty Mrs Elton.
Hilarious, beautifully shot and cast - apart from the frank lack of diversity.
Loved it.
