Alright. This game is not bad nor is it good. Let's break it down.
Controls: For any system other than PC, the controls SUCK. The developers could have made use of the D-pad for the dynamic inventory.
Gameplay: I like the free roam feel, I really do. But SOME direction would have been nice. Like, click down on right stick for a hint. Or an objective in the top left corner of the screen. That was the main thing that made me put down a previous game, Agony. I had no clue what I was supposed to do in that game and no clue what I was supposed do in this one. There were also a few bugs that I did not appreciate but reported.
Creativeness/Content: Honestly, I liked the creatures and mini ideas that the developers came up with. I did not expect Lucy and her jaw ordeal. Or Dolores and her "rope." I saw a couple of reviews say they did not like the changing scenery, but I personally loved it. I think that deserves a hat off to the creators for not playing it safe with just staying inside the house. I can genuinely see the artistic minds behind the coding and I love it.
Storyline: The storyline was a bit hard to follow. I got the gist of it but I still have several questions. Luckily I have Google.
Graphics: The graphics weren't what I was expecting. They weren't great. The load screen makes it seem like you're getting Series X graphics but you're actually getting 360 graphics.
Horror: 10/10. Perfect jump scares, definitely grotesque and I love that part
Overall: This is a game I would play again. It fits the horror theme to a T. I would really like to see this game remade with extra funds and extra care. The people behind the coding are very talente, more so than I will ever be but this game could be so much more if given the chance.
