This movie deals with a serious subject in a most macabre way, irreverent and dismissive humor. In most movies everyone seem to have a favorite actor or an actor gives a stunning performance that stands out but in this movie EVERYONE seems plugged into the agenda and each one catapults off the other when doing their schtick. The incredulous deadpan of the President, the 'soon to go psycho George Scott, and the dutiful but not too believably loyal, Russian Ambassador, play into a masterful scene of a credible reality. Even Slim Pickens's over the top charade with the bomb was somehow not so seemingly that far out of bounds after having seen the rest of the movie. Too bad the automatic detonation of the Doomsday Bomb will wreak total havoc on the film and all of its copies so that if life on this planet DOES come back, they will never see the lengths of stupidity that man has went to in order to impose his will on his fellow man.
