I thought this film was mesmerizing. A minister who lost his faith and regained it in the most unorthodox chain of events! To many it didn't make sense. Raising a question; why would beings from another world land on a planet mostly water knowing water would destroy them? That is the beauty of Sci fi. The son was morose, way to serious and little girl, she was just that. Both children possessed an inner knowledge in the end brought their father back to them and to God and ministry. The brother was cool he was a strong hold and a minor league baseball player. Swing away juaquin!

The music is fantastic as always. Willie's music and Dyan's voice what a great combo. Amy can sing too. It was a fun film besides, the energy. Slim Pickens always was one of my favorites since I was little girl. Lily seduced buck straight from the start showing off at the family get together her guitar prowess and singing. His family was an option, asviv put it "were supposed to be glad you came through town !" Lily was not my favorite charachter. She should have known better (him too) bucks done that before. Lily showing off always smug guitar playing. She loved him apparently. She wasn't a naive little school girl, it put a bee in my bonnet those two behind Vivs back not to to mention that cute little boy. Gutsy Viv told them off on stage what transpired after that made the film. I am glad she took him back again with the audience. What playing. One review said she felt bad for lily outside watching. Well, love is strange. It ended with their duet, an unclouded day. Entertaining and colorful. Yes I even bought the soundtrack!

This movie is excellent! I have watched it sooo many times and have never tire of it. All the actors are perfect for their roles. The soundtrack is riveting. Jerry goldsmith should have won of course it was up against titanic and he didn't have a chance. Of course my opinion ( titanic soundtrack is nothing to snub.) James Cromwell played such a hardened criminal type police chief, what's amazing to me is remembering what a good natured, easy going farmer he was. The book is considerably different than the film, but the script was so cleverly intertwined who ever would know?

Good show just lots of little plots. A naive and sheltered young woman marries a man whose in witness protection due to money laundering. Partner goes to jail. Julianne is married to Michael. He has other women in his life he keeps so secretly from her. When his partner, Eric is paroled he sees Michael's picture of the inn he's running off he goes. The man who knows Michael's new identity gives way. He leaves leaving a trail of more puzzles needing to be solved. Anna is manager she is julia new friend. Michael is in an accident, not found peop.e think he died. Julianne pieces together the puzzle of who Michael is. He has 2 other women in his life cathrine who has his child and Barbara a banker. Sad how Julianne finds out this. She was sooo clueless! He was sooo deceitful! Paul one of the staff is the man who loves her. After all is said and do e Eric goes back to jail. Anna tells Michael off of how he used people. Julianne telling him he would never know hat he missed. Julianne stands tall making decisions and taking on the roll of owner of the inn. Keeping the family tradition. Something she almost lost because of Michael's mismanagement and deceit.

Mmmmmm so so. It truly lived up to its title the sad cafe. All the charachters play their roles to maximum. Vanessa Redgrave plays Amelia a tough independent woman no nonsense, keeps the little town alive offering a grocery store, bootleg, and doctoring. Tranquil life. Cousin lemon shows up "cousin" maybe. He has a hunch back. He turns out to be a deceitful little sh..then marvin ex spouse who actually was a good man who was attracted to Amelia. Her churlish behavior I feel was due to social retardation, yes such a thing! He was good to her. Anyway being raised by her father, no feminine influence of a mother. She humiliates marvin she knew nothing of love or courting. He leaves. Returns later from prison a different person. Her cousin lemon meets him and is infatuated. Soon little creep betrays Amelia a fight ensues he helps marvin! Being beaten in the fight Amelia is crushe. The townspeople support Amelia but this wasn't their fight. She retreats then sneaky lemon and with Marvin's help destroy the entire town and scurring off inthe night. Keith carradine brought his musical savvy into the show adding more to make it watchable. Other reviews have said perhaps what goes around eventually does come around. Amelia wasn't exactly a kind to cousin lymon. She was verbally abusive to marvin too. Different kind of story, no happy ending no gracious beautiful lady just life in a dusty depression southern town.

This was a good movie. Like other reviews it is a bit far fetched as to cluelessness of people. Meryl and David are superb as always. The father was working working always drawing for a firm that didn't care as much as his family did. I understood the riff there. Still in all he's a good man, and loves his wife and children. Roarkes birthday arrives tom can't make it as always mother Gail upset as always kids disappointed. The white water rafting trip was important and planned. Gail and the kids plus Maggie the everso loving, loyal and beautiful golden Labrador seafaring along with the family she loves so dearly. Gail's parents live in Idaho, her mother had a tough time to being married to an ornery man who was also hearing impaire. Sign language. That speech and skill was a life saver. Rourke inflated with bad guy wade his friendliness and "generosity" parents teach your children well. Don't talk to strangers!" But wade. Was a manical manipulator who could charm snakes. After tom the father arrives Gail and roarke are most pleased, although he brought work with him. All that fell by the way when the family realized who or what they befriended with wade , Terry and frank who was the original guide to raft them down. He was shot during the robbery. Wade finished him off later when he slowed their escape. Wade tries to drown tom he slugged him away. Dad is more than suspicious of these 2 men. Terry is the dense one, most parts o Reilly played were gentle soul, slow to anger parts. I liked his acting. He could have helped the family, easily. It's gets tense when Gail and roarke realize he's a terrible person with a twitchy finger. Gail refuses to take them down the gauntlet, too dangerous for roarke. Needs her to keep an edge row g. By this time wade has offed her husband so he thinks Maggie got away too! Tom leaves messages for her she knows he's OK. That lame ranger 😒 I thought it odd too how clueless he was. The camera, the tension on the family's faces, those 2 standing behind them??what the? He is offering to the kevin bacon charachter has no remorse whatsoever. Tom, funny his glasses stay intact and all the equipment there seems a bit contrived. Then again, maybe it is to be of help to rafters. Tom sure is tough he maybe a city dwelling upper crust but he will protect his family hand to hand combat! The ending is nice, but true, roarke should be traumatized at least a bit.

I tried to watch this flick on more than one occasion I found it nauseating for the most part. The charachter marina/demi Moore annoying and shallow. I liked the Leo charachter the most. Then again George dzundza is a versatile actor. My final raspberry stink stank and stunk!

I loved this film. Like another reviewer I watched this with three of my sisters in the mid sixties. Monday night at the movies most likely. Ray Harryhausen. What a genius! Greek mythology is one of my favorites ever since I heard appollo. That was early sixties. What a journey to find the golden fleece, all the perils and other god like characters. The sword weilding bronze man. I was surprised he was full of sand? The singing sirens deafening the men needing the gods help with wax. All was grand, I still watch it from tome to time.

I love this show. I dc'd Netflix years back to save cash. I missed this show the most. When ide go to family members house I watched it. Well....sort of, my little grandson too little. They're right. It's violent. I don't care that much for Kevin Costner films but I do love this one. He's playing frank Hamer and takes over the part with excellence. Woody Harrelson I like most of his. This is an excellent presentation, I recommend it to all.

When i first saw this I liked it. I did not approve of her corporal punishment. What she expected from those kids was waaaay!!! Over the top. My SO called her an ass.... her entire attitude. Where is child protective services when those children needed them? As you can tell I can't stand it now. That mother was bad news.
