Just awful. You just can't take so much time to build up a plot. 2 hours maybe I could have tolerated. Very poor.

Yes I watched it all. No, I dont know why. It was so turgid, boring, and I wish I'd stopped watching earlier. No interest in any of the characters and if they made it to episode 6.

Iam afraid I'm that person! I found it dull and uninteresting. If you like Downton you will probably like this. When I saw the cast I thought I was in for a treat, nope. I have read some reviews going on about the Director, blimey, a film either holds your interest and attention or it doesn't. The story was weak, posh people behaving like posh people and those downstairs getting on with stuff. It just wasn't enough for me.

Well I stuck with it but I don't know why! I couldn't warm to any of the main actors. Ellis herself, blimey, was she being directed to portray it like that? The long gazes into the distance, the summing up her thoughts all the time, pulling her chair closer to the interviewees? It was bad. The acting was bad, the scripts all too easy. It was painfully slow and drawn. But some enjoyed it. If we all liked the same stuff wouldn't life be boring?

You see the cast and think , these are great. This will be a great film. I read the reviews after watching it and it was peppered with the deep meaning, juxtaposition, religious clap trap written by pretentious up their own juxtaposition wannabe critics. The film, for me was just an excuse for dark sets, dramatic heavy music and meh! I hope that one day Denzil, a true great, says this was a mistake.

I watch films. Basically, if it makes me want to watch it to the end - result. Others may look at the artistic merits and pontificate on all sorts of other bollocks- i liked it. I could "get" what was going on. Just watch it. If you get bored , switch it off. I didn't. It made me want to find out more.

I read the reviews and thought I'm in for a good scare. A good story etc. What a load of utter tosh. All this pretentious rubbish about sub plots, bollocks. 1 hour 55 minutes I won't get back.

The first book in the Roy Grace series is what made read them all. Dead simple , the book, set it out so brilliantly in the first few pages. I stuck with the tv adaptation but wanted to switch it off frequently. I'm surprised the author signed it off. Its not true to the book and I can't even see how a neutral can say its a good story. I was so looking forward to it. Pitt it was dross.
