You will kick yourself if you miss 'Chal Man Jeetva Jaiye'. This Gujrati film with English subtitles is a MUST WATCH. The story, ideological relevance, gripping script, realistic characters, fish eye focus and a freshness of story telling makes me want the world to see it. The layers of a complex family unfold so naturally, drawing you in as an insider of the Sanghvi family caught in the throes of a shattering crisis. This movie restores faith in the promising younger generation (India's unique wealth). It establishes the role of value based education (sorely missing in our current systems). It gives, silent goodness, inherent in most Indian woman a chance to surface and get acknowledged. It tackles the disease of our times- the desperation to win. There are many more valuable takeaways, but then I have to leave some for you to be surprised to discover... I saw it this afternoon, 12.15 show at PVR ICON Versova, with public demand they have added a late night show too. In times of one week burnout of mega Bollywood movies this one is still going strong for over a month now. I have skipped acknowledging the makers...you can always Google to get that information.
