I think “Far From Home” fits comfortably into the superhero genre as I’ve come to know it since reading the comics as a kid in the seventies. It’s got the updated look of the here and now; Peter Parker falls for a realistic MJ (I’m a high school teacher so I get kid culture) and Mysterio is truly a cool updated version from the 12 cent 1960s Marvel version of yore. This reboot of Spider-Man in my opinion saved the MCU take on Spider-Man re: the Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi films. Anyway, it’s a good film. Great writing. Mysterio was always one of my faves as a villain. Saw it in 3D in Shenzhen, PRC 🇨🇳. So, I too am far from home 🇺🇸. It’s good to see the Sony/Marvel machine putting out palatable cinematic fare. I’m astounded at the prevalence of marvel super hero awareness among my secondary school English students here. Now all “Far From Home” needed is a cameo by Fan Bingbing, Oh wait. That’s X-men Dark Phoenix.
