Over all, Run On was a positive pleasurable drama to watch......... No long tortuous break ups with angst filled cliff hanging episodes.......... No love triangles......just the blossoming of friendships and romance ..... uniting and bringing together people from 2 different worlds.
The final episode was fantastic!! Lot's of character growth and loose ends tied up nicely. Smiles all around. Siwan is now on my fave list......and I hope to see him in more romance dramas. Shin Se-kyung is excellent too.....They made a great pair.
After watching episode 15 I finally get the significance of the "ET" reference with them touching their fingers.......The lead couple are from different worlds but connecting. I love love love the OST. it's beautiful especially Siwan's song that he wrote and sings, "I and You."
I have episode 10 on a loop. Heartwarming!!
I am all caught up with the 8 dramas that have aired already. and I just re-watched all 8 again to make sure I didn't miss anything. The dialogue is quick and witty and loaded with double meanings......I caught a lot with the 2nd viewing. Not only is the FL an interpreter between English and Korean but she is being challenged with just understanding the male lead, Si-wan who speaks Korean but definitely comes from a different background than her. Ultimately the dialogue between the 2 of them reveals that they aren't all that different. I am looking forward to them speaking "the same language."
Si-wan is a quirky, charming, and good looking male lead. I think that his natural acting style lends itself well to quiet, odd and stoic......he is similar it style (not character) in Misaeng. In any case, it makes him even more loveable when he flashes that beautiful smile. I am quickly becoming his new fan.
Shin Se-kyung's character is smart and knows what she likes and goes for it. She is hard working out of need......the perfect example of what happens when there is no safety net to fall back on. I am looking forward to her teaching Si-wan more about life and how they will find comfort in each other (hopefully),
I am currently playing The Boyz OST from episode 7, "Priority." It's a shame that Netflix doesn't include the subtitles for the OST. After reading the lyrics on YouTube I can see that this song reveals so much about how the male lead really feels toward Ms. Oh. That's the value of KDrama OSTs, they are an integral "character" or "dialogue" enhancement to all Kdramas.
