The name FELUDA in the title speaks for itself. A film in which veterans like Soumitra Chatterjee , Santosh Dutta and Utpal Dutta are acting , can such a film ever go wrong?

Umm... What should I say? Well the plot of the film was so far away from the story it could not leave a mark . In the process of idolizing Shanku director Sandip Ray actually almost changed the plot. However actors were well casted and theyall did there level best to hold the audience . At the end I would say being a bengali it's your duty to watch the film at least once and to all shanku lovers who have byhearted all the stories I know you won't like it much but you must respect the work of the maestro and watch the film once.

The fact that I used to write all my exams till class 3 with my shaka laka boom boom pencil shows how much I used to like the show .

I don't want to compare but comparison always comes forth when you see a scene to scene remake of a film. The 1973 film is one of the best things in Amitabh Bachchan’s filmography and remaking it was certainly a very bad idea. The remake was crappy as expected with Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. It was not even close to what the original was like.

As much as we rejoiced after watching the original film Sholay over and over again, the remake was the biggest disaster Bollywood has seen and that stands true regardless of the fact that it was a remake. All we can say it that Sholay never did anything to deserve this.

The love story cum crime thriller starring Rishi Kapoor in the original was celebrated hit of 1981. Sadly we cannot say the same about the Himesh Reshammiya starrer Karzzz from 2008 which had some extra Z’s and a lot more annoyance. It can easily be the life regret anyone who has seen it.

Thanks to the breathtaking beauty of Aishwariya Rai Bachchan that the film was not a complete ruin or else the film has nothing applaudable. We love absolutely everything about Rekha’s Umrao Jaan and absolutely nothing about Aishwarya Rai’s remake of it. Aishwarya’s breath taking beauty in the film did turn a lot of heads but all the people who were headed to the theatres must have had a hard time surviving the long run of the film.

The 1983 Bollywood blockbuster, starring Sridevi and Jeetendra was one of the most memorable films of the 80’s. Probably that’s why Sajid Khan could not contain the urge to copy the film screen by screen in 2013 and ruined it so completely for us! The utter mockery of the original coupled by poor performances by Ajay Devgan and Tamanna the film was a mega flop.

good acting !? mmm.. maybe but not as much expected. If you haven’t watched this classic Bollywood comedy from 1979 named Golmaal, then you have not seen anything. But on the contrary if you missed out on its remake by Rohit Shetty, Bol Bachchan you really have had a good life. The 2012 film is disappointing beyond imagination.

A doctor , Dr Ashok Gupta(Soumitra Chatterjee) , is actually acting like doctor by caring for his patients suffering from typhoid and finds out that the water from a shiv mandir is the cause . However the common mass , provoked by some self - centered and money loving business men ,including his brother , Nishith Ghosh(Dhritiman Chatterjee ), posing to be religious people , go against him. His friends ,except one,Biresh Guha(Shubhendu Chatterjee), who later resigns, from a famous magazine publication also leave his side ,. He was , however supported by the youth of the area and the film ends with him telling his friend to publish an article in a newspaper of Kolkata with the by line being " janoiko ganashatru " ( one among the enemies of mankind) . Marvelous storyline and the most brilliant direction both by Satyajit Ray. I can't imagine such a film without his involvement . Also notable acting by Shree Soumitra Chatterjee , Dipankar De( Haridas Bagchi, editor of the magazine) , Mamata Shankar(Indrani Gupta , daughter) and Dhritiman Chatterjee. The film is a protest against the business going on in disguise of religion and shows how a section of the mass uses this sensitive issue in their profit . It also highlights the role of the youth in reforming the society and working for public welfare.
