I haven't felt this happy playing a game since Ocarina of Time. Every negative review on Google completely misses the point of the game. A lot of people grew up playing games without any idea of what to do or what the point of anything was. Before localization was a thing, players in many countries had to just figure it out as they went along.
This game takes that very concept and makes it the heart of its adventure. It's completely unapologetic about explaining things—because it doesn’t. No tutorial, no guidance, barely any tips—nothing. You're thrown alone into a world with nothing, and from there, it's up to you to figure everything out.
This is what a real adventure is supposed to be. You can’t rely on the game spoon-feeding you knowledge like a parent feeding a baby with a "here comes the plane." You have to bet on yourself—your wits, your ability to recognize subtle yet incredibly rewarding and fair in-game mechanics, and the intuition to explore its intuitive world.
Each bad review comes from someone who can’t handle a game unless it holds their hand with constant tutorials and a HUD telling them where to go, what to do, and how to do it at all times.
This game is everything I’ve ever wanted in an adventure game and more. I am not treated like an idiot, and I am so happy there exists games that don't treat me like one, like Tunic. Figuring things out is so unbelievably rewarding. I just hope on day I forget every single thing about this game so I can experience it all over again. Easily one of my Top 5 games of all time, right next to Ocarina of Time.
