I have always wondered when a hoarder home is cleaned why the usuable items aren't separated and auctioned off to reimburse the home owner and the cleaning service. There are so many auction services that would purchase or help sell the items. I acknowledge that a lot of the merchandise is damaged or unusable... but I also see tons (literally!!) of totally usable items.Too much waste. And selling the stuff would be so helpful to the owner, to recoup part of their money. I understand time and everything but if the owner knew they were going to get some financial gain it might be easier to move forward...
