My favorite book series by far. I liked the first movie, but at that point I hadn’t read the books. when I read the first book I realized the movie was just a really really just a PG of the book. Yes there was a plot and the movie flowed well like the book. But none of the, I’m not gonna sugar code it, sex or sexual content that wanted me reading more in the book. Obviously the second movie took that into good use and finally gave us what we wanted.. but they focused on so much on what we wanted that they basically through in all the big events in the movie jumbled up together. I mean the first 20 minutes of the movie felt like already the first 60 chapters of the book. It was incredibly rushed, and by the last 20 minutes I had a bit of a headache. Now I’m no on screen critic at all what so ever. The actors brought the characters TO LIFE. Amazing amazing job the actors and actresses did. But the way the writers wrote the script basically screwed the actors and actresses from the start. Again all they can do is act what they were given, and they did the possible best they could do. Hats off to them for bringing the sexual Hessa we know and love. But I just wish they could’ve transitioned the events wayyyyy better. Easily could’ve made this movie a 2 and a half hour movie and it would’ve been soooooo much smoother. But I did like the movie aside from it all. I’m excited for the next two movies. And I’m disappointed they’re doing so much recasts but I’m also excited to see what they’re gonna do to the fathers in After We Fell and After Ever Happy. Hopefully this helped lmao
