Brilliantly written, great production values, and highly charismatic actors. I admit, this is the first time I've watched a medical drama series, and after watching two seasons, with at least one episode every day, I'm looking to find where I can watch Season 3.
After reading through some of the other posts, I would like to make the point that a show like this, or all shows for that matter, are not created primarily as academic critiques on social issues. The fact that some genres can include highly relevant and inflammatory content, worked through in narrative form, is part of the genius of TV stories. This is especially true in this time of streaming series where characters and situations can be explored in depth.
Historically, this aspect of TV drama began with Original Star Trek. For more formal studies (of subjects), there are documentaries, current affairs talk shows, and you could always enrol in university or other educational courses to move into detailed analysis. TV series is an entertainment medium.
