Can we please stop romanticizing the plot by saying he’s protecting her ? The film is about a man who works as a spy but is already not the most psychologically sound after losing his wife and daughter. The manner of which is never completely clarified. While sent on assignment he crosses paths with Joanna Eris. Something about her clicks in place with his lost daughter and broken mind. The majority of the film is about HIM STALKING HER ACROSS COUNTRY. Until her death. He watches her commit murder more than once. Then he causes the accident that steals her husband and makes her lose a baby. It’s a trippy “experiential” cinematography that was in vogue in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, full of Gen X apathy and angst. The acting was intense.
