This overly-hyped action/horror movie has a lot of missed potential, and it's as frustrating as it is unfortunate. What could of been an insane trek through occultism and depraved scientific experimentation is instead a bland, watered-down version of the movie I expected. Maybe it's the fault of the hype machine. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe this movie is just terrible. There's very little explanation as to what's going on and why, and the little explanation we get is just badly written. They could've delved into Hienrich Himmler (head of the SS) and his real life studies of demonology, but nope, that never happens. This poorly written movie feels like something found in the Resident Evil universe, only way more boring. Oh well...
