AIYAI Director's Statement INSPIRATION AIYAI is a Psychological Mystery Thriller. The Protagonist's character in AIYAI has been inspired by real life incidents that happened to my friend during my younger years. I saw him undergo a sudden abnormal transformation after an encounter with a dark spirit. CONCEPT You have seen popular ghost flicks where a character is possessed. But in AIYAI, its different. The protagonist is taken over as a vehicle by a spirit. There is an internal battle between his conscience and the spirit's power. He doesn't understand and is unable to explain what's happening to him. Day by day,he gradually weakens, his level of abnormality increases until the spirit gets in total control over him. SCREENPLAY AIYAI has a very engaging screenplay navigated by unique and memorable characters. We have avoided the use of old school jump scares to frighten the audience, instead, there will be thrill elements to maintain a mystery. The depth of the story has been conveyed by intelligent scenes. The audience will unwind knots as they watch. We have maintained a realistic feel throughout the Film. Even the supernatural events happening will be very believable. We achieved this through a lot of Special effects instead of doing everything in VFX. WHAT THE AUDIENCE CAN EXPECT The Audience will have a next door kind of feel while watching the Film. Within the first few minutes, they will easily relate to the characters and feel all the emotions that the protagonist undergoes. AIYAI is meant to thoroughly entertain, it contains thrill, mystery, emotions, eery moments, intense action and humour at the right places. It is a must watch Film, because we believe it will exceed your expectations.
