Gorgeous show! Incredibly juicy, dynamic, and the acting is stunning! It's fantastic to see a Korean show lead by strong women who eventually come together. As a Korean American adoptee, this show hit me in a different way. It's true that our pasts do not have to dictate our future, we have a choice in how we choose to live and we must take responsibility for our actions. I resonated with Jung Seo-hyun and of course, Lee Hye-jin hit my heart the most. Her character made me wonder about my own birth mother and the pressures she must have faced in order to drop me off in front of someone's home (knowing this family would take me in)-- she must have thought this was the only way to save my life and provide opportunities she could not have given me (this is what I've gathered from years of searching for her). I can't imagine how painful that must be for her. At any rate, thank you for creating such a beautiful show. I hope Korean society will continue to empower women, address social injustices towards those who are at a disadvantage and my biggest hope is that Korea changes its narrative and policy regarding single mothers. This show helps change the stigma around single mother and challenges the old thinking about adoption in Korea--it is possible to love someone else's child as your own. I pray that Korea changes its narrative around this subject that so many Korean adoptees are trying to change. Thank you!
