This isn’t any Worse than the red cover novels that my mother used to read and I Borrowed. Where the caveman/pirate/bar owner/gunslinger would kidnap said girl for himself and by the end of the book she was madly in love with him no matter how badly he treated her. With lots of sex thrown in to push it along. They sold a lot of those books. Both characters being attractive sells the whole thing.
