A cinematic masterpiece. Got the historical accuracy spot on. The cinematography is simply stunning. The story is good. From popular novels. It provides an acceptable narrative to help transport one to another world. I wasn’t completely convinced by Russell Crowe’s Capt Aubrey but absolutely worth watching if only for immersing yourself into the world of Nelson and the crews of the Royal Navy when wooden ships and sail ruled. Amazing movie.

I’m a Beatles fan, so of course I loved it. Even if you don’t know the Beatles well, it’s a lovely heartwarming story. Good acting. Good script. And…. Ed Sheeran! What’s not to like?

What a load of rubbish. Even if you can get your head around the idea of a second civil war in the US (not completely implausible), the story has so many impossibilities you spend the time watching saying “what a load of rubbish” to yourself Throughout. Got human reactions completely wrong. The battle scenes were something a primary school kid would imagine. And the ending… ridiculous. It was fully predictable and yet completely absurd. I have no clue to what the moral of this monstrosity is meant to be. Get the photo no matter the cost? I was hoping it would be something about the importance of free press or the dangers in accepting misinformation or conspiracy theories. Just hated this movie.

Season 3 is a real disappointment. The first season was great. The second was pretty good. This one was far too unrealistic in plot. Poor delivery of dialogue (directing or the actors?). Full of cliche, plot holes and predictable characters. I even think Alan has got too big. Went from a potential NFL tight end to an obvious bodybuilder. Entertaining if you just want action, guns and violence. Nothing special here. I hope they change direction for a season 4.

Stunning visuals but otherwise pretty much rubbish. Forgettable music. No storytelling here, just a string of chaotic skits that are meant to be tied together in a narrative about teamwork, but the pacing is so rushed with dialogue that is difficult to follow making one ask “what’s going on?” The characters are mostly just annoying rather than engaging. Shove in the favourite characters from the first movie although they don’t really add anything. Some kids may enjoy the slapstick but it’s definitely missing anything special or build anything close to the emotional connections that make the first film so good.

So silly but so fun. Basically the film gets as many amazingly thrilling stunts as possible in a single movie. Sounds dumb right? But Ryan Gosling and Emma Blunt are so likeable, and the supporting cast so obviously having fun, that you get sucked in and end up having fun along with them. Don’t overthink it, just grab some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the action. The stunts truly are amazing. You also get some insight into how the stunts are made.

With chaotic scenes and way over the top directing/acting, I got bored and a bit frustrated within 5-10 minutes. Having greatly enjoyed the stage show, I persevered for nearly half an hour before giving up. There was some good dancing. Elphaba was pretty good but given an average script. Michelle Yeoh impressed but was a fairly minor character. The rest were just annoying really. Much was due to the poor writing and way too elaborate sets/props. Finally, although I didn’t even make it halfway, I reckon it was also needlessly too long. Give it a miss and go see the stage version.

Nice scenery but such a painfully long movie you don’t really care what happens in the end. You just want it to end. We got the theme and likely outcome in the first twenty minutes anyway. The rest was filler. Done in an artistic style but filler nonetheless. Better to google the story and read about it. Much more interesting.

Well worth watching. Definitely not perfect. Historically inaccurate, regular “you have to be kidding me “ moments, accent issues, typical Taylor Sheridan over the top gun play, yada yada yada… but put aside political culture wars and be entertained. It’s a very good production with a good cast and based on a great story. I learned something too. I had never heard of Bass Reeves. I looked him up after watching the series. Very interesting character. In summary, a bit like the old Clint Eastwood movies; switch off and enjoy.

A good film and worthwhile watching. Four or five stars is perhaps generous but my wife and I both really enjoyed it. A bit old fashioned perhaps and the story can be predictable, but it's done well with a nice change from the typical Hollywood treatment. I also quite enjoyed the traditional Polish costumes worn in the countryside. Not something we commonly see in western film. Just a nice story, well told. I think it would have been better if it had wrapped up about 20 minutes earlier, but otherwise much better than a lot of the very ordinary stuff one gets on the streaming services. The nascent European film makers are definitely worth watching.
