I personally don't like dramatic shows, since I believed the acting is superficial, and the real emotions get buried under the vague and uninteresting story. I'm not saying "13 reasons why" is different from this. The one thing I admired about this show, is it's influence on one's thoughts, and beliefs, about both the good and bad in people. The show lets the viewer create his opinions about the characters, it never forces you to accept what the director's expectations; it subtly creates this influence on you, and without realizing, you're the one who's really hearing Hannah Baker's story. The show left me wondering and thinking about how a sweet girl could have experienced something so bad, that she killed herself in such a gruesome way. It made me consider the acts I have committed in the past, and made me judge if they were good or bad. In fact, I couldn't even judge if they were good or bad, because I'm not the one who experienced the acts, I would never know. The show intents to show the harsh reality in human society, and tries to uplift friendship, honesty and kindness, and in no way promotes anti-social activities among people of any age group. I highly recommend it to people of all communities, and request them to view it from an unbiased perspective, and not relate any unfortunate incidents from the show to their personal life. It does such a good job; I used to sometimes wonder, " Hannah Baker is dead, this is the past that I'm viewing". That's the kind of liveliness and depth that the show brings into its characters. After a week, I still remember that one scene in the last episode, and try to understand, "Why her?".
