Good drama but short on historical references. Pulling the German pilot from the burning plane, only then saying "we should put him out of his misery" was stupid. Their mission was to deliver a crucial message, not save the enemy. What were they going to do with an injured prisoner? Approaching the plane (without guns drawn) was a calculated risk. Shoot the enemy and move on. So character one gets stabbed and dies...the plot is obvious from that point on...character #2 is gonna make it.
