Let's get this out of the way now, I'm older. I'm 61 so I may be a little out of touch with what is considered entertaining but for me this show sucks. There is a lot of talk about the graphics and sets being excellent. Okay but a cinematic mutt is still a mutt. Kirk was entertaining fighting a guy in a rubber lizard suit. The writing is juvenile and the characters unrealistic. Every episode is a sermon. How can anyone have confidence in a Captain that cries half the time. I would appreciate it if the writers would stop cramming inclusiveness down my throat. I get it. I agree that all people are valuable and it takes all kinds to make a happy world but ENOUGH! Everyone has a sad back story and are too willing to share it. The show is darn depressing and this whole "I support you" shtick is getting tired. What's next, do they all stand in a circle and high five before each assignment? How is it that a captain represents the federation at a conference? Did the admiral just decide to take a day off? This captain is constantly lecturing people on kindness and understanding. It's insulting yet all of these galactic leaders suddenly come to realize how wrong they are and how right she is. This is absurd. The writing is awful and the acting is worse but most of all I don't watch Star Trek to get a therapy session each week, I watch it to be entertained and in that respect this drole, bland, tripe fails miserably.
