I wanted to like this show. I never want to see any Star Wars project fail, but this show certainly did.
The principle reason explaining this show’s failure is its careless, and often times just downright poor quality, writing. The characters never had any cohesive motivations (i.e. May changing allegiances 4 times in one episode) and then they were killed off while you were left confused as to why they were there in the first place.
The plot achieves very little in 8 episodes and it felt like viewers were left watching the mystery they had solved half way through the show play out over 4 episodes. Not to mention the fact that the big “scandal” that the Jedi supposedly covered up was a gigantic nothing burger. Witch mom literally turned into a smoke demon as a fight was about to break out and we’re supposed to hate the Jedi master (I forgot his name already) for acting in self defense?
Finally, the show doesn’t have any of the dignity or fantasy that you would expect from the era. Weird references to motion sickness, homesick Jedi, and seductive Sith all take me out of the show and make it feel like some odd parody of Star Wars.
