This novel shines with wonderful, rich character development. With every descriptive phrase your mind's eye will view the landscape and smell the scents. I also enoyed the author's weaving historical and medical developments throughout the various storylines. The 700 pages will pass quicky and delight you!

I'm glad I picked it up from the library and didn't pay for it. While I appreciate the craft of their very dark acting , this was one of the movies I've disliked the most in my decades on the planet. Go take a walk in nature, call a friend, scrub your toilet, anything will be a better use of your time. This is the last time I let my husband choose the movie, lol.
