I would echo others issues with the lack of likeable characters. You don't "feel" anything for these characters. The original miniseries did more with less time. The characters had more warmth and depth, you rooted for them. There was some good, some bad. If you have never read the book or seen the other series, give this a go. If you like it, read the book.
