Nice mother/daughter relationship, even when they disagree. Construction problems that crop up seem to elicit laughter rather than a more normal reaction. That's a little strange. Every house is open concept, which is a fad—a bad one. Where is the storage in these houses? No coat closet by the entrance, no utility closet, etc. Center islands with either a sink or stovetop in them means you have to clean everything off, or else you will be looking at the dirty dishes while you are eating. HGTV houses (not just this show) are designed for TV, not for actual living.
