I wouldn’t say it’s predictable. Definitely is a story about abuse and becoming the abuser. I enjoyed the tropes it did play into.

It’s very on the nose. For the uninformed the idea behind vampires as far the ones we’re familiar with in mythology are a parallel to seduction abuse and rp. Normally this is hidden behind big scary blood drinking monsters a lot more. But this movie takes a big aggressive dive into child rp survivors guilt rp of a man and the the feeling of being unclean because of it. rp never actually happens in the movie but it might as well have. I left the theaters feeling more sad than scared. Great set pieces as far the castles and medieval town and boat stuff go. Very gothic.

It’s just getting review bombed. Personally outside of rogue one, and the force awakens I haven’t cared about anything Star Wars has put out since the last force unleashed video game. (I was a huge fan before Disney) Seriously if you’ve enjoyed anything Star Wars has done in the last 5-10 years and you’re not sexist or racist or a gatekeeper it’s fine. Outside of the killmonger haircut it’s distracting and kind of pulls you into the real world where it’s in fashion right now. The only reason I’m not giving it a 3-4/5 stars is to balance out this random hate. Seriously the only show I could sit through was Obi-wan for nostalgia I wasn’t able to sit through Mandolorian or Ashoka. I know they’re great shows and this one probably isn’t as good but trust me it’s not 1/5. It’s not “somehow Palpatine returned”

Damn I miss Hawaii. As my entire family is from rural O'ahu it's kind of cool to see what's pretty much our backyard in a movie. Definitely a Hawaiian goonies movie but still I love it.

It was really good. I honestly love it. I think the critics are mad because they're not at all comic book fans. It had a really good pace, does a great job of portraying how professor X is in the comics. It had a good amount of space stuff which is something I love from the older comics, and it had a good ending. No end credits be warned
