I think it took a few episodes to hit its stride, but by episode five I was totally onboard. I was afraid it was going to be a raunchy parody which would have gotten old fast. Turns out it was actually a show with drama and plenty of heart. There is intensity in some episodes that can be gut and heart-wrenching. Puts me in mind of the best episodes of M*A*S*H, with the humor and the drama perfectly melded it. Good job.

It's good to see Frank Hamer, a legendary Texas Ranger, get his historical due. I never did like the way he was portrayed in the Arthur Penn film about Bonnie and Clyde. And this film de-romanticizes them, portraying them like the murdering scum they were. Good performances, with Costner and Harrelson possessing excellent chemistry. A+. There is an excellent biography of Hamer by John Boessenecker published in 2016 that I highly recommend.

Absolutely astonishing. Puts me in mind of the work of J. G. Ballard. I think he would totally enjoy this show.
