I agree that the movie theme of "daddy issues" is there an omni-present. However, the movie is basic and void of any true meaning. For the ladies, Brad Pitt is covered in a space suit most always. All other characters seem to be nothing more than a cheap prop. Donald Sutherland and Tommy Lee Jones are simply nostalgic in presence. All in all, the movie is a giant bore. I wanted it to be great, alas, it was not. I saw the movie with a 12, 24 and 55 year old.old. I am 60
