The ending of season 2 lost me as a fan. I never enjoyed the cheesey karate scenes, or the half baked philosophy, but rather the excellent character development in a contemporary setting. The full scale school riot with superhero karate was just too much, and stretched credibility with kids sustaining levels of ferocity for periods far longer than any street, military, or mma combat. Suspension of disbelief reaches a climax as the violence culminates in an unnecessarily graphic and distasteful Mortal Kombat style fatality, although rather than the victim suffering death and the perpetrator going to prison, they will probably just recover and return to fight next season. I did not realize before that this show takes place in an alternate video game reality!
