I loved the movie, the take away for me was the underlying "Pay it Forward" attitude. Ray was not listening to the "voices" to fulfill just his dreams. But to realize that helping others fulfil theirs, he came to understand they did have choices. And the "regret" he thought they felt was not what defined them.
