This was one of the few really decent movies following a classical heroes journey story arc (so rare these days without SJWs infecting it and putting the male characters down as clowns or misfit losers e.g. Marvel and X-Men).
Although certainly lacking in finesse and wider world repercussions & detail outside of the main antagonists and protagonists, it feels like a tribute to Rambo fans as well as fans of the classical foundational myths of most societies (particularly Western ones) i.e. the Male hero/Father figure who loves his family, seeking to very reasonably and diplomatically dissuade their young from impulsive choices, before going to their rescue when the youngsters eventually make then anyway & screwing up in the process.
The action I thought, was brilliant and innovative in both a shoot-em-up style, but also that of classical rambo-commando in the jungle ;)
A real worthwhile watch, without any SJW-Guardianista/CNN nonsense that sadly seems to dominate most of what Hollywood produces these days.
