Did people forget it was a play on the musical, not the movie itself?
Anyways, I loved it. I love the representation, and I also love how it shows why we DONT DATE OUR CASTMATES.
Seriously, if you’re in a show with someone, do not date them. Put your relationship on pause ESPECIALLY if you’re the lead.
Is it the best?
No there are definitely some issues with it.
But is it bad? No.
And a little advice to any future theatre kids: accept the roles that you get. Remember that even the person who sweeps the stage at the end of the show has a big job too and is just as important as the lead.
If we didn’t have the smaller roles, the bigger ones wouldn’t work.
Everyone has a job, and a place in the theatre family. Everyone is an integral part to the machine to keep it going. Also, everything goes wrong, especially opening night. My friend and I had to go through a packed house before opening on Dracula because our entrance was locked. Terrible things happen. It’s normal. You gotta be a sponge though!
