Top Gun: Maverick- A Cinema Spectacular That Doesn't Disappoint
This film was amazing. I went in, figuring that I'd like it better than the original from '86 (based on the trailers), and was not disappointed. While both films have their respective great points- I would say that Maverick wins out for a better script, character development and a most incredible score. This film also tones down on the swearing big-time, which I certainly appreciated (80s PG like the original, and today's PG are VERY different) Cruise, and the entire cast shine in this film. The action sequences are engaging, without being too long, or drawn out. The plot is not complicated and the nods to the original film retain a sense of nostalgia that gives this film a heart. Walking out of the theater, you can't help but think, "Wow, now that was a GREAT movie"
The first time I've ever gone to a movie and the audience claps at the end. What a winner!
