I've really started to notice how most of these live-action Disney adaptations don't really stand out as well as their 2-D animated counterparts. I'm not saying that I hate the live-action remakes, they are just not as great as the originals, as in we don't really get the same type of electrifying vibes and feelings for the movies. Now I will say that the 2019 Aladdin remake did push the right buttons as far as knowing how to remake an animated classic, without having to evoke anything that we saw in 1992. There are some changes here and there such as we got the whole "One Jump" sequence while Jasmine was with Aladdin. The only thing I didn't like in this remake was the way Jafar's character was written, they could've done better to make him just as compelling as he was in the animated version. On the flip side, the best thing about this is of course "The Fresh Genie of the Lamp". According to Will Smith, his portrayal of the Genie was sorely based on his Fresh Prince persona, and I thought that was a really creative method to approach this character and also the most nostalgic moment for me was "A Whole New World". Overall, Aladdin, as I said, was good but it wasn't great.
Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 57%, but I give it an 80%(good but not great).
