The 1st part had me thinking it was a film solely about slavery, then the plot twist revealed itself and I was drawn into a film not only making me think of how terrible it was for slaves but a film showing the realism of racism and how these people used their hatred of blacks to make money and feel superior to them. It was a thought provoking and sad towatch. So glad I didn't know what the film was about as it probably wouldn't of been so interesting to watch the plot unravel.
