Mr. Sunshine is an extraordinary cinematic experience. Speaking personally, it is the best drama I have ever seen. I did not know anything about the historical facts of this period of Korea, it has opened my eyes to the many aspects of the country and how it had to fight for its soul. And, in many ways, I guess it's not over yet since in the modern age there is North and South Korea. I'm equally aware of the probable creative license used in the making of the series. The relationship between Eugene and Ah-sin touches the heart and is even 'gut-wrenching', as are those relationships of all the main characters. I have watched it four times now and no doubt I'll watch it again sometime in the future. This series is a classic.
