Review: New Superman Movie
Just got done watching the new Superman movie, and honestly… I need a moment to process the cinematic emptiness I just endured.
This film feels like it was made by someone who heard about Superman once at a party but never actually met him. There’s no soul, no heart, no weight — just two hours of generic CGI, awkward dialogue, and a lead who looks like he’s still trying to figure out if he’s auditioning for a CW show or an actual film.
Where’s the hope? The awe? The “symbol of peace” energy? All gone. Replaced by flat emotional beats, rushed plotlines, and action sequences so uninspired, I genuinely forgot I was watching a superhero movie at times. You know it’s bad when you start rooting for Man of Steel out of sheer nostalgia — and that movie wasn’t even perfect.
The worst part? They had so much potential. A rebooted Superman should’ve felt iconic, not like a two-hour fan film with a Hollywood budget. Say what you want about Henry Cavill’s era — at least it felt like something.
Final thoughts: If this is the new DC direction, I’d like to politely get off the ride. I’m going to go rewatch Man of Steel now, and pretend this never happened.
⭐ 1.5/5 — and that .5 is just for the costume not falling apart.
