I was shocked at how much I liked this movie. It was creative, it was funny, the acting was great, the characters were actually compelling, and it was just a great time. That's more than I can say for most of these remakes. That being said, I actually wish they had completely cut the idea that this could be a prequel. There are some crucial characteristics of the original Cruella that are missing from this version, making some of her decisions feel out of character. Once I decided to start looking at the film as if it was a standalone with similar characters, I really enjoyed it. If you're a big fan of the original Cruella, I would recommend going in and watching this film as if it were a spin-off rather than being directly connected to the story we already know.

As a Disney fan, it hurts to say that this is genuinely one of the worst films I have ever seen. I've been very hesitant to watch it, and I wish I had just passed on it. What a waste of a talented cast. It's nothing like the original story and features very little ballet (One of the only scenes being consistently interrupted with exposition). The plot was bland and unengaging, there was no chemistry between characters what-so-ever, and the characters had little substance. The CGI just came off as a sad attempt to further milk the live action Alice in Wonderland series without it following the same characters. I would never ever recommend wasting your time with this movie.
