Story is dark! Dark, intense & gripping! But relates human nature, our obsession more relatively our hidden obsession for something/someone,our addictions.
We get to know here about 2 main characters, Gibson the female detective who is a very strong, exhibitionist, self dependant lady who still is enslaved by the desire and obsession to have sex with younger man without beholding any other bonds with them. The second character is of Paul Spector, the sadistic sexually-motivated serial killer whose devoted his entire life being a slave of his dark desire to study women in pain. He did not longed for sex, but he was intended to torture women till death and photograph them treating them as a mannequin. His first murder which he named as his "1st project" made him sick, but this is human nature we do things that are restricted and risk taking which gives us internal satisfaction. For him torturing women and taking them under his control gives him that pleasure. So he continues to crave for his internal satisfaction. There is another character in this play named Katie, a young teen who was deeply in love with Paul. We see in 2nd season towards the end that Paul advises her to think what gives us happiness.. Watching best friend getting all applause for being beautiful and talented while she being less considered or seeing her in pain? ✨
